Rejection City and An Incredible Set of Pipes

I got three rejections this past week, two of which were 'good' ones. You know the kind I mean - regretful tone, high praise for your work, but, alas, can't fit you into their line or already have a similar author... My agent was very encouraged by the response and we've still got both my books out there, but sometimes the 'good' ones hurt the most. It's feels like I'm so close, yet just can't catch a break. YET. :)

On the home front...my daughter took her Tae Kwon Do exam and passed to 'white belt'. She's five, and while she loves make-up and all the girl stuff, when she gets into her uniform, the child is FIERCE! At the graduation ceremony, the instructor had a yelling contest with her age group, and I was sitting there thinking, "Oh, Master Lee, you know not what you do." She blew them all out of the water. Here's this tiny little girl (the only girl among six boys), standing in the line facing the audience. I hear people behind me saying "Aw, isn't she cute", and then she gives me this knowing look and quick thumbs up, then opens her mouth... I was so proud!

LOL! I love this story about your little girl. How funny.

So sorry about the rejections, and right before Christmas too. Ugh. At least they were encouraging, but I know that "just can't catch a break" feeling all too well.

Your daughter sounds like a cutie! And she's the same age as mine! Did yours turn 5 this year? Mine turned 5 in October.

And I'm REALLY sorry about the rejections. I hate that word. I mean, if they're positive, they're not really the R word, right?

Fingers crossed for ya! :)

Thanks, guys. Sometimes I look at her and think surely she must be charmed. Or maybe it's me who's charmed. :)

Y - she turned 5 in July, so our girls are very close in age!

Trish - your time is coming. 2006 is going to be a great year for you, I just know it!

Seems like your baby girl got her spunk and zeal for life from someone, I wonder who?

Its just a matter of time. I know the waiting and the rejections are hard, but when youre famous imagine all the stories you’ll have to tell.

"Tim the sexy cow"

I can't get over 'Tim'. That is just so wrong! :) I mean, at the very least, he should be 'Tim the sexy bull'. But, no, he's a cow! Didn't think Tim rolled like that, but, oh well...

So maybe he did help a little to lighten the mood -- okay, a lot! Thanks, Shawn!

I agree, "sexy cow" just doesn't have a cool ring to it! ;)

Kelly, MERRY X-MAS to you and your family!
