Some of my work

Ha!  And you thought I was talking about writing.  :)  It's a rainy, surprisingly cool day.  I'm in a reflective, rather pensive mood this morning and have been staring at one of my clay sculptures.  So, I took him down off his perch and snapped his pic.  I give you Bucephalus.  Well, my interpretation anyway.  He's old.  I sculpted him about 8 years ago.

Wow, that is beautiful! Do you do horses a lot?

Thanks, Jolie! I left him kind of rough and unfinished b/c I really liked the way it looked -- sort of aged and ancient. I've done a lot of pencil drawing of horses, but that was my first sculpture. I've also owned horses nearly my whole life, so modeling one from clay was pretty easy actually.

I'll have to put up some pics of my old horses. I sold my last two after my daughter was born . . . :( I miss them, but my friends still have theirs and so I can ride when I want to.

Ok, funny story, ok not so funny but that's typically what people preface statements like these with... Before I left the East coast I was looking at super old photos and I found a couple of you and Jezebel wayyyyy a long time ago. Have to scan them for you when I'm back there.

Amazing sculpture! Kelly, a woman of all trades: writer, sculptor, sketch artist, photographer, woman! ;)

A woman of many talents! That is spectacular! I sculpted in my youth but don't think I could have been that convincing with the details. That's why I'm a painter. It's easy to mess up and no one would know...
